In the early eighties I lived in Saskatoon and I became impressed with the four seasons in Saskatchewan. Now 35 years later I wanted to take some of the backroads I had not seen before. We left Regina on route 17, then13 and 21 to Maple Creek. This photo shows how grain was stored in small wooden buildings.
Horizon is one of the villages that has lost most of its population. Two of the second generation grain elevators and a church are what is left.
The third generation grain storage building is shown between to two wooden elevators
The church appeared to still ne in use, but needs some renovation.
Part of the southern area of Saskatchewan is full of canola fields.
