Where we stayed in Porto, Portugal.
This "Guarany Cafe" was across the square from our hotel and was opened in 1933. The building itself is much older. There are to large wall murals inside Guarany with reference to the Southern American Indians who once dominated the vast region that today is home to Paraguay, Paraná (Brazil) and Uruguay.
The artist captures the modus vivendi of the Guarany tribe, how they organize their daily life, the instruments they use as well as their desires and grieves.
The building in the background is the City Hall of Porto. Our hotel "Hotel Universal" was on the right side of the plaza and Guarany Cafe on the left side. We were within walking distance to all the sites we wanted to visit.
