Shipyard to highend condos, Aker Brygge, Oslo, Norway
My son took me on a tour of big changes in Oslo, Norway.
We had a lunch near Akershus Festning (Akershus Fortress) with a view of downtown Oslo, with City Hall on the right and the former Aker Ship yard (now Aker Brygge) on the left.
Aker Brygge with City Hall in the background. Aker Brygge is now an area with good restaurants, high-end condos and shopping left.
This is how I remember this area. This photo was taken in 1939.
You have to be a Norwegian to do this at end of February. She is jumping from a floating sauna (steam room).
The building on the left is art gallery and restaurant with hotel and condos on the right.
The layout of the the area is well prepared with making good use of a former dry dock. All the condos have a great view.
